Turin: Egyptian mummy successfully restored with a laser by El.En.

The restoration of a mummy from the Ptolemaic Era was successfully completed at the La Venaria Reale Conservation and Restoration Centre (Turin). The mummy was wrapped in linen cloth bandages and had a cartonnage mask covering its face.

The incrustations and concretions on the surface of the artefact were removed using a laser by El.En.'s Light for Art division. The laser allows to selectively remove the incrustation, thus dramatically reducing the possibilities of damaging the artifact.

The mummy will soon be exhibited in a case in the Egyptian Museum of Turin.

Light For Art division, and El.En. laser, confirm themselves as leading company in the field of laser cleaning for the artistic and cultural heritage.
